Bringing in a new year with this handsome, crazy fella!
South Lombok last year in 2016. Not a bad place to hang out on holiday. This was shot on a 35mm Canon camera.
Yep, this is me back at the beginning of 2016. Me and my partner Laura ventured off to Indonesia for 18 days. We hung out in South Lombok for the majority of the time surfing, swimming, eating drinking, burning around on mopeds and generally just having a damn good time! Laura took this portrait on a Canon 35mm film camera.
Out doing a spot of volunteering this morning for this worthy cause (Growing Change) in Fremantle, WA... First bit of gardening I've done in a very long time.
I shot this image over last winter in Western Australia down Margaret River way at Gracetown. After experiencing a number of winters in Tassie, this weather bought back wild winter memories surfing the north coast of Tassie, minus the chill. I can't call 18' cold here over west! My mates, brothers and I use to get back into a cold wettie for a second surf in weather like this, but it was probably 8' colder than this!
This shot was taken a couple of summers ago on the East Coast of Tassie. I spent a lot of time camping down the East Coast of Tasmania when I was in my late teens/early 20's surfing, partying, listening to never ending music playlists (Pixies was always on high rotation) and just been a young whipper snapper!
Me and my mate Alex had a surf on this day. It was taken the day after a wedding we both shot in Hobart back in December 2014. Alex is a Videographer in Hobart (https://flowingimage.com.au). We were the only two surfing and this can be common in Tassie. The east coast of Tassie definitely requires a wettie all year round. The water temperature has increased by 0.8% since the 1960's. Don't rush into your swimmers! Even though this day was over 30', the water temperature was probably sitting at 15'. Wetsuit essential!
I have a fair bit of content I would love to share with everyone... This mainly delves into my personal life (with the odd bit of work stuff).
In my spare time I love to get the cameras out and shoot nature, wildlife, surfing, architecture, people and travel... I love camping, getting down to the beach and catching a few waves when I can. My partner Laura and I are often on road trips, seeking new adventures and travelling around frequently.
So from here on in I'm going to regularly post images that will be a combination of revisiting the archives as well as recent work I have taken. I hope you enjoy them and thanks for viewing my website.
This is an abandoned warehouse in Coogee (south of Fremantle) in Western Australia. The location for this building has a stunning outlook capturing epic views looking out over the Indian Ocean. As cliche' as it is, the sunsets are truly incredible here. This warehouse use to be an old power plant that opened for operation in 1951. After it's glory days, the building closed in 1985 and since then it has become a corroded landmark. This building isn't open to the public, but it's so fascinating you cannot help but get drawn in. As you can see it has had it's fair share of graffiti artists and probably lovers, tourists and avid photographers.
